Heat Wave Seminar
Held on 23 May 2024 in Dhaka, Bangladesh
A month after the longest heat wave ever recorded, the BRAC Climate Change Programme invited JO-CREWsnet climate scientists from MIT to present their work as part of a comprehensive seminar on heat waves and the future of sustaining life in Bangladesh.
Seminar Objective
Educate the community, government, and media about a Science-Policy-Practice approach to living with and mitigating the effects of heatwaves. The seminar will provide participants with:
- An introductory knowledge of heatwave science
- An understanding of the geography, frequency, intensity and impact of heatwaves in Bangladesh
- An opportunity to suggest how JO-CREWSnet can take action at the local, regional and national level
